SALAH AL-KHUSUF
PRAYER OF THE ECLIPSE OF THE MOON
Saturday June 26, 2010 immediately after Salah Isha (10:55pm)
At Masjid al-Farooq

InshaAllah, there will be a partial eclipse of the moon (khusuf) this Sat Jun26, 2010 starting at approximately 10:17pm and ending at approximately 1am. It is sunnah mu’akkadah to do Salah al-Khusuf (Prayer of the eclipse of the moon). Therefore, we will be having a jama’ah for Salah al-Khusuf at Masjid al-Farooq on Sat Jun26, 2010 immediately after Salah al-Isha (iqama 10:55pm) inshaAllah. The Salah al-Khusuf is expected to last until the end of the khusuf inshaAllah.

Although it is sunnah to perform Salah al-Khusuf in congregation, it can also be done individually.

Here is an excellent article on Salah al-Khusuf: http://islam-qa.com/en/ref/6111

We encourage you to come to the Masjid and implement and revive this important Sunnah in Islam, inshaAllah.

Jazaakum Allah Khairan.

Salaam

This will be the Islamic Institute's 13th Annual Summer Day Camp, and our goal is to provide children (ages 6 to 12 participants must be 6 yrs of age by December 2010 - proof of age may be required) with a summer experience that is exciting and enriching. A place where children can experience the richness, excitement, and warmth of an Islamic environment; a place where children learn the importance of caring, sharing, tolerance, patience, and working with others.

In addition to arts & crafts, recreational and outdoor activities (including field trips), the program will offer Islamic activities based on weekly themes. Our facilities at the IIT, with a huge gymnasium and playing field, prayer facilities and classrooms are ideal for a program of this nature.

The camp also provides the opportunity for university and high school students to gain important skills while they work and volunteer for the program. Just ask the kids who have been coming year after year – our counsellors are young and energetic, responsible and good-natured.

Please note that children may be registered for the entire period or on a weekly basis. There will be no discounts for partial attendance.

Islamic Foundation of Toronto: Youth Tarbiyah Conference 2010 - Fri June 25th to Sun June 27

"Islamic Spirituality, The Key to Genuine Faith"

Do you feel a void in your life?
Do you ever feel like you are stuck in the daily rut with no real vision or goal?
Have you asked yourself the question, "Why do I find it difficult to abandon sin?"
Do you feel as though you are trying to please everyone but Almighty Allah?
Do you experience that you are able to learn Islam but not able to live it?
Do you find yourself spending endless hours watching movies, surfing online,
gaming and engaged in other superficial pleasures?
Do you feel your prayers are not being answered?

We live in a society generally surrounded by materialism, individualism and arrogance.
We are tied up in the rat race of school, university, work, careers and tight schedules
leaving little or no time for the remembrance of our Lord and His deen. This sense of
preoccupation eventually waters down our spiritual connection with our Creator. The
essence of true faith lies lost within us, making us people of negative traits and habits
within our homes, communities, schools and work.

This year's conference will help rejuvenate one's faith and Insha Allah will facilitate one
and all to become aware of traits and values that lie within us but too often fail to exhibit
such as sincerity, spirituality, intentions, honesty, piety, morals and integrity. This event
will reinforce our faith and make us better people, excellent students, honest
professionals, caring family members, exemplary citizens of our country, and committed
Muslims striving for excellence.

Elevate your Iman and quench your spiritual thirst by attending the 10th Annual YOUTH
