Eid mubarak
Eid prayer: 9:00 am, Friday November 27Khateeb: Shaikh Ahmad Kutty
The Saudi Supreme Court has announced that November 18 is the first day of Dhul-Hijjah. Accordingly, the day of Arafat (the ninth of Dhul-Hijjah) falls on Thursday November 26. Eid Al-Adha is therefore on Friday November 27.
The IIT's observance of eid is determined by the day of Arafat (when the pilgrims on hajj gather in the plain of Arafat) and is in accordance with the position of the Fiqh Council of North America, ISNA, and other organisations. For more information please refer to the Fiqh Council's statement.
Some suggestions for eid:
- arrive early to avoid parking issues (and carpool if possible)
- make wudhu before leaving home
- recite takbiraat on your way to the mosque and on your way home
- bring a dish of sweets or finger food to share with others
