Ramadan at the IIT
The Islamic Institute of Toronto has planned a comprehensive program for Ramadan. It all begun with the pre-Ramadan dinner (Sunday Aug. 16, 6 pm - 9pm) where Shaikh Ahmad Kutty spoke about Preparing for Ramadan: Practical Tips on Maximizing the Benefits of Ramadan. Muslims all over the world are once again looking forward with anticipation for the commencement of the blessed month of Ramadan. It is the month of mercy, forgiveness and salvation from the fire of hell; a blessed month, wherein there is a night greater than a thousand months. Yet, apart from the anticipation and the sense of excitement, we make very little preparation to maximize the benefits that Ramadan brings. The Ramadan program continues with lectures & iftars every Saturday during Ramadan, concluding with eid prayer and the eid carnival & bazaar.
Please review the information below on our Ramadan program, and join us in making the best use of this noble month. We hope that you can invite your family and friends to participate in our events, pray with us, or simply partake in one of our iftars.
In accordance with the decision of the Fiqh Council of North America, we will observe the first day of Ramadan on Saturday, August 22, and Eid al-Fitr on Sunday, September 20
