Those without access to a computer or who need help registering will receive assistance at the IIT before class.

ARAB400-5 Conversational Arabic
The focus of the course will be to build vocabulary for use in day to day situations, and through simulation exercises students will practice basic conversational skills. The course will be an excellent complement for those who have taken grammar lessons but are not able to use it in conversation. It is also geared to those who can read Arabic but are new to Arabic as a language.

ARAB401/S-2 Access to Qur'anic Arabic for Sisters
This course will utilise two texts to explore the grammatical construct of the Arabic Language and its manifestation in the Qur'an. At the end of the Course students will be able to understand the theoretical grammatical concepts and terminology such as demonstrative and relative nouns and pronouns, definite articles, the nominative case, verb tenses, and more as contained in Volume 4 of the IQRA Arabic Readers Series.

Hadith

HDTH 101-2 Ulum al-Hadith
This course is a continuation of the course on the science of hadith, or Ulum al-hadith, which is a method of evaluation developed by early Muslim scholars in determining the veracity of reports attributed to the Prophet Muhammad (pbuh) This is achieved by analyzing the text of the report, the scale of the report's transmission, the routes through which the report was transmitted, and the individual narrators involved in its transmission. On the basis of these criteria, various classifications were devised for hadith.
